I recently participated with Dave Talley from our direct marketing team on a presentation. While preparing for it, I spent a lot of time thinking about the phrase ‘relevant and timely’. To be sure, we toss phrases like that around as routine marketing-speak….but what does it mean in practical terms?

Dave and I were teamed together because we wanted to convey the message that the statement is now much more than simply a transactional document. It is our belief that if we were able to apply proven direct marketing principles to the transactional document work flow, we could greatly enhance the utility and effectiveness of the communication. In order to do this, the messaging or other content must be meaningful or relevant to the recipient. Further, it should address a concern, question or goal the recipient has today, or expects to face in the near future.

Dave’s team has tremendous expertise in supporting our clients achieve these communication goals in our direct marketing services. He has worked with our clients in their efforts to make the communications useful, timing them properly, and most importantly, making it a lot more likely that the desired result will happen. Our goal here at DST Output is to achieve those same results, in real-time, in each month’s transactional communication.

Make sure to reach out to your DST Output representative, or me, to share your particular goals. We can get you more information such as our several eBooks, a design consultation or bring others to the table to help you get there with your customer communications.
